ScrumU Small Group Jun 3, 2011

Attendees: GA Tech (Lori & Greg), Wake Forest (Steve, Robert), ND (Tracy), MNSCU (Dick), U of Alaska (Peter)

GA Tech - Scholarship project, workign with U of Alaska, using some Scrum-like techniques, Greg appreciates nice feedback on his Scrum presentation from Summit! Appreciated Wake Forest's presentation around Scrumming a Banner Upgrade and plan to apply that approach for the next upgrade.

Wake Forest - "Scrum everything" - combined support and project work, manage the total backlog, creates a challenge with balancing all the small things/task switching, taking ownership of each project/item all the way to production.

U of Alaska - requested a Scrum room, probably not gonna happen, thinking about turning walls into whiteboard walls. Setting up first pairs programming station. Have a separate cube with a long bench and two chairs.

MN SCU - budget probably being cut by around 100-150 million due to government budget shortfall - stressful times.

ND - Kanban seems to be taking hold a little bit more and more - with managing support queues and upgrade projects. A good read: "Kanban - Successful Eveolutionary Change for Your Technology Business".
